斗门组曲 (Doumen Suite) comes along with a great outlook for Peter Dragotta's Pharmacopia. He has a new band from China, his now-adopted home. He has come back to the trumpet, his first instrument with a different approach. The session was recorded in Shenzhen with master bassist Xu Bo Wang (王旭波) and drummer Xiao Yu Deng (邓博宇)

Xu Bo Wang (王旭波) is considered to a jazz bass pioneer in China. He was born in Dalian. He is greatly influenced by Dave Holland with an aggressive playing style. He leads his own group "The DLB Group" which tours throughout China and is a teacher of bass at Shenzhen University.

Xiao Yu Deng (邓博宇): Is a much sought out studio and session drummer in China. He plays drums in various rock, jazz, and free improvisation bands. He is an electronic musician; obsessed with minimalist atmosphere, construction works that are sensitive and delicate which incorporates strange rhythms with a unique aesthetic perspective. He recently released his own experimental electronic music album "Password Wilderness" to rave reviews.

This recording showcases high levels of invention and energy. The ambition of all three musicians' is to create soundscapes of sustained intensity.
